The farthest I’ve ever pushed myself is when I ran the mile run in seventh grade. The moment I got onto the field, I started getting the feeling of butterflies in my stomach. Whenever I start a race, I always stretch first, so I did. I felt very nervous. We had to run twelve laps around and we couldn’t stop for less then three seconds. If we were to stop for more than three seconds, we’d be out. That was the tricky part. The strategy I always used whenever I’m going to run laps is, to run for the first lap to get in front of everyone. Then I jog all the other laps except for the last two, I run again. When I finished the twelve laps, I felt so tired that I just wanted to lay down on the ground and not get up. After you run, it’s not good to sit or lay down because you might throw up so you should just walk around to calm yourself down. After we all calmed down, they read the places. I managed to come in second place, which was awesome!
