1. Decide on a product you will sell or a service you will offer. Consider:
a. Market: Making bracelets, key chains, and rings.
i. Who will buy your product or service? Whoever is interested including students in and out of school, teachers, parents, neighbors, etc.
ii. Why will people buy your product or service? They will buy our product because it’s fashionable and cool.
b. How will you make the product or deliver the service? We will make them out of a different variety of beads and colored strings.
i. Startup costs: We will start selling them at a coast of somewhere between 25cents to 75cents.
1. How much does it cost to create the product or deliver the service, and is this money available? The total amount for the materials such as circular colored beads, letter colored beads, and jewelry string was $12.
ii. What materials and equipment are needed? Basically any typed of beads, and jewelry string.
iii. How difficult is it to make the product or deliver the service? Not very difficult at all but the key chains may be a bit more harder to make than the bracelets.
2. Discuss the best method for creating the product or delivering the service:
a. What roles will be created to make this process work?
i. Identify the roles of each worker
1. Manager(s): Our manager and co-manager will be responsible for the money, supplies, and making the products.
2. Laborers: The laborers will be responsible of making the products and gathering the supplies.
3. Creative Design/marketing: Any personalized design.
4. Finance/bookkeeping: The leader keeps track of how much the employee’s get paid and keeping track of the money altogether.
3. Discuss Marketing
a. Is there a market for your product/service?
i. Who will buy your product/service? Anyone who is interested including students in and out of school, parents, teachers, neighbors, etc.
ii. How much will you sell the product/service for? Depends but most likely will sell the product from 25cents-75 cents.
4. Discuss Competition
a. What products or services, within school and outside of school, compete with your product/service? Any typed of jewelry store and another group who is also making jewelry.
b. How will you deal with that competition? We will try to make our product more attractive then theirs.
